Since this year’s Earth Day in April, TrailWatch has been inviting our users to conduct the Waste Audit together. According to the records received from April to August, apart from the three most common trail rubbish (plastic bottle, food packaging and anti-pandemic items), other rubbish such as tissue paper, cigarette butts and Tetra Pak made up 81% of the collected rubbish.

The 3rd Saturday of this September (18/9) is the World Cleanup Day. TrailWatch would like to remind everyone to continue coastal or trail cleanup, then share your record to social media and hashtag #WasteAudit. With the effort from all of you, we are hoping to raise more people’s awareness of the rubbish issue in the countryside. Take Your Little Home and reduce waste at the source.
Recommended Route for the Waste Audit: Peng Yu Path, Peng Chau
Recommended Location for Coastal Cleanup: The beach near the Old Fisherman’s Rock
Everyday can be the day to clean up the coast, the trails and reduce waste at source. Make it a habit and every reduced waste count.
