TrailWatch launched “Footprints on the Hill” in June 2020, inviting our users to share their mountain moments on social media through photos and a short story. The pandemic measures were severe at the time. Since Hong Kong is such a densely populated and fast-paced city, and most of us could not travel abroad to take a break, many people became adventurers of our countryside. After a year and a half, we have collected many submissions. Now, let’s have a final review of these amazing hiking experiences.

A series of webinar (“山野送飯”) were organised during the pandemic, where we invited guest speakers from various organisations to share local biodiversity with us online.

Whether it is country parks, popular trails or not so popular trails, the amount of rubbish in the countryside has risen along with the number of visitors. Many stories from Footprints on the Hill are about protecting the countryside, and through these sharings we all hope that people would embrace nature and appreciate the “3/4 of Hong Kong”.
