Use TrailWatch on your smart watch, starting tomorrow
TrailWatch has become Hong Kong’s first hiking app for smart watches with the launch of its new Apple Watch app in August. The app is also the only smartphone app that combines hiking with the preservation of Hong Kong’s natural environment—its “Incident Report” function has now been upgraded to enable users to more swiftly and accurately report suspected incidences of damage to the environment.
Making hiking easier with TrailWatch for Apple Watch
TrailWatch can now be used on the Apple Watch: all TrailWatch users need to do is to “Start Tracking” on their smartphones and check in with their Apple Watches to find out the time elapsed, distance logged, altitude and calories burnt. Without the need to retrieve their smartphones until the end of their journey, TrailWatch users can enjoy an even more hassle-free hiking experience.
Guard the countryside: report suspected incidences of damage
Over the years, Hong Kong’s country park areas have seen incidences of suspected damage, such as the felling of incense trees and the illegal dumping of waste. Because of the sheer size of country park areas, individuals who are passionate about protecting the natural environment often encounter difficulties when reporting suspected incidences of damage. TrailWatch’s latest version of the “Incident Report” function features more distinct capabilities that enable users to record and report suspected damage using GPS while logging their journeys. TrailWatch then categorises these reports and directs valid ones to relevant government departments and/or organisations for follow-up action. TrailWatch users can keep track of the progress of all incident reports on the TrailWatch website.
