The Green Earth: Hong Kong Trails Day

The Hong Kong Trails Day is inspired by the  annual International Trails Day which is a celebration of trails, trail developments and the healthy lifestyle they encourage. Hong Kong Trails Day encourages the public to experience the beauty of Hong Kong trails and aims to deliver conservation messages about trails. A booth from TrailWatch will be set up to promote hiking in Hong Kong and Leave No Trace, do drop by and visit us!

AFCD: MacLehose Trail 40th Anniversary Celebration Day

MacLehose Trail, opened on 26 October 1979, was the first long distance hiking trail in Hong Kong. This year is the 40th anniversary of this iconic hiking trail. To commemorate this special occasion, the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (“AFCD”) is organizing an array of celebration activities for the public to enjoy the countryside! As a supporting organisation of the Celebration Day and to continue to promote accessibility in countryside, TrailWatch will organise an outing for wheelchair users to enjoy the scenery of MacLehose Trail.

AFCD: Complete Walk on MacLehose Trail 2019

Another  celebration activity of the 40th anniversary of the MacLehose Trail, is the “Complete Walk on MacLehose Trail 2019” hiking challenge organised by the AFCD. To join the challenge, hikers are invited to  complete different trail sections within the 3-month period from 1st September to 30th November to experience the uniqueness of all ten sections of MacLehose Trail according to their physical strength, experience and preferences. TrailWatch has registered as one of the participating groups, anyone interested in the group challenge can join our group by selecting “TrailWatch” when registering!
