「喇叭仔」手記 – 吸煙危害山野健康

行山人士越來越多，每逢假日各大山徑都出現人頭湧湧，山友們都希望趁著假期去郊外放鬆一下，但同時亦引伸了不少山徑相關的環境問題。近年山友漸漸注重行山禮儀，不時討論到行山人士應有的禮貌，同時尊重及愛護山野，共同推廣無痕山林理念。

有時候行山會遇上有人大聲講電話、播歌甚至邊行邊吸煙，這些行為都十分騷擾其它行山人士及幽靜的山林。吸煙及大聲喧鬧，在網上平台已列入十大令人討厭的行山行為。在山林裡吸煙，可能會引發山火，對生態及環境造成嚴重的影響。「喇叭仔」呼籲行山人士切勿在郊區吸煙，保持空氣清新，並一起「保護郊野，防止山火」。

無論行山或露營，身在大自然都應該考慮其他山友的感受。然而每個人入到山林，對大自然已經有一定程度的影響，希望大家盡力實踐無痕山林七大原則中的最後一項「考量其他的使用者」。拒絕做自私精，尊重不同行山人士及動植物，將環境影響減到最低。

With increasing number of hikers, the popular mountain trails are often crowded on holidays. Many people escape from the city during days off to relax but some environmental problems are caused simultaneously. Hiking etiquette and Leave No Trace are getting more attention in recent years, hikers are gradually learning to respect other visitors and nature at the same time.

It is still common to meet hikers who act inconsiderably, including speaking loudly on the phone, playing music with loudspeakers, and smoking while hiking. Smoking and speaking loudly both have been listed as the top ten most annoying hiking behaviors by an online platform. Smoking in country parks may cause fires which would lead to serious ecological and environmental impacts. Megaphone urges hikers to refrain from smoking in the countryside, not only to keep the air fresh but also to “Protect Our Countryside and Prevent Hill Fire”.

Always be considerate and respect the surroundings and other visitors when being in nature. Follow the 7th principle of Leave No Trace, “Be Considerate of Other Visitors”, we can join hands to minimize impacts to the environment and enjoy the nature.
